From making an enquiry with medical travel through to procedure being carried out I found the whole process very seamless and my co-ordinator Hana very informative and always on hand to offer some friendly advice, even with directions.

The clinic really was spotlessly clean and my private room lovely and comfortable. Everything was explained to me in really good English and the nurses were friendly and professional in carrying out all necessary medical checks prior to the procedure.

The procedure itself went very smooth and was over in just a few minutes with a little recovery overnight at the clinic where I was checked on regularly and monitored. The clinic made sure that I was not discharged until they were 100% happy with my progress.

Even after the gastric balloon procedure my co-ordinator checked in and offered some really good advice on some minor heartburn I suffered, which is a common short term side effect.

I am now two weeks on from having the procedure and doing really well, eating small liquid/soft meals and have lost 8lb in 2 weeks which is great result especially as I suffer from PCOS and struggled to loose just a few pounds with diet and exercise.

If I knew it was this easy I would have done it years ago, I now look forward to a healthier future and would definitely recommend medical travel for their expert knowledge and friendly approach.

A real pleasure to meet you, to undergo the surgery and sadly, only see the city of Prague for one evening.  You put a lot of work into ensuring that the whole process went smoothly.

This is a quick run through the process and if I think of anything else, I will add it at a later date.  I would like also to extend my thanks to the liaison man at the clinic who explained everything to me and went through my discharge letter and explained the plans over the next few months.  I would also like to have thanked the nurse with the bright ginger hair who was very considerate and helpful whilst I was being sick. Such a charming lady.

Unfortunately, upon arrival home I contracted the Norovirus (big epidemic of the virus at the moment) so I was additionally unwell but, 6 days later, I am quite well and the gastric balloon is causing little trouble.

Website – good, easy to navigate. Improvements – perhaps downloadable post-operative information on diets, discomfort and general information.

Flights – best I could manage within the timescale

Hotel – actually quite nice and very helpful. Shame I could not have spent longer in the city

Prague – what a delightful city

Clinic – very efficient, super staff

Surgery – very efficient although I did wake up during the procedure but they very quickly rectified that. Can’t believe it was so quick.

Room – very good. Recommendations. The little sick tray would not hold more than a cupful.  Given the amount of my stomach contents that I bought up, I would suggest a bigger container.

Medication – although outlined in the discharge notes, the medication is in Czech so if I lose my discharge notes, I have no idea what the medication means.  Again, something that may help if the details were on your website.

Discharge to home – booking a taxi was most helpful and 720k not too bad.  Sadly I had to walk past all the chocolate and sweets in the duty free !!

Overall, I wish I could have spent more time in Prague and I will definitely stay longer when I have the balloon removed.  Too nice a place not to enjoy.

I’m doing very well thank you! I’m not been sick at all, just a little discomfort the first couple of days. Thank you for assisting me. I felt safe and well informed thru the whole process.

The services provided by medical travel Czech was perfect. The hotel was nice, the pick up from the airport was fast and efficient as was the trip to the hospital. 

Communication is fast efficient and accurate. The standard of English is good and is certainly way much better than my Czech! But some slight confusion steps in at times but were very quickly resolved. At the hospital a few things that would have helped, tv that had at least one English speaking channel. The staff at the hospital were great, Milan especially so.the medical staff were really nice and explained it all very well. 

The only things on exit that would have been nice would have been instructions in writing for the medication and a taxi back to the airport included in the price even if this was added to the price.  

Payment, It wasn’t clear that paying by card was in Czech Krouna which wasn’t a major problem but I would have rather pay the whole lot in either Krouna or Euros so I could keep a tally on cost. This is just a personal thing and certainly didn’t detract from the service. 

All in all it was a great experience l, I would recommend your service to other without hesitation and if the weight loss continues at this rate will be a much thinner me look forward to seeing you in about a years time. 

Everything was a complete success and best of all for me the weight is continuing to come off. I arranged this procedure at quite short notice. Thanks to you the whole process was made very simple and you kept me well informed about what was happening at each stage. It was great to be picked up at the airport on arrival and taken directly to my hotel of choice. The hotel (Exe City Park) was really good with very friendly and helpful staff. I was obviously nervous the next morning when I met you. It was great to be accompanied by you to the clinic. As far as the clinic was concerned, all of the staff were friendly, professional, very helpful. The fact that I am English did not cause a problem and I knew what was going on all the time. As far as the procedure is concerned there is not much I can say as I don’t really remember it. All I can say is I never suffered any problems apart from nausea which was to be expected. The clinic provided me with a full report including photographs to give to my Doctor at home I felt pretty rough for the next couple of days but, thankfully that has passed now and I am continuing to lose weight. You told me before I came that Prague was a beautiful City. You were absolutely right. My wife and I did a lot of walking and riding the tram. I was stunned how lovely it was and spotlessly clean. We are very much looking forward to going back. Thank you personally, and the team at Medical Travel for making this a trouble free trip. The idea of travelling to another country to have surgery can be a daunting one. I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do or whether I should save up more money and have the surgery in the UK so I naturally had nerves about the whole situation. That was until my initial email query was picked up by Erika who then became my primary contact at Medical Travel Czech. Every question I had whether it was about hotels, the surgery, the recovery, the currency, how to get to and from the airport; everything that I needed to know, Erika had the answers for me whether it was day or night. She was a constant source to reassure me as I planned every detail of my trip and with every response, I felt more confident that I was making the right decision in going abroad for surgery.

From the moment I landed in Prague, I was looked after. I was picked up at the airport, taken to the door of my hotel, met in person by Erika the next morning and then escorted to the clinic. After the surgery, I was out and about within a day or two with Erika checking in by email to see how I was doing right up until I left Prague and even after that she has remained in touch to see how I have progressed. Erika was a complete star and my words are insufficient to describe how helpful she was throughout the process.

I found the service professional, discreet and great value for money. Knowing what it was like before I decided to go through with it, nervously reading reviews and questioning whether it was a good idea or not, I can now say without doubt that I would highly recommend going abroad to have surgery.

A little over four months later and I am happier and healthier than ever before, all thanks to Erika and Medical Travel Czech.

I think my experience here in Prague was very pleasant. There was good communication all around and I felt welcomed from the moment I came off the airplane. I appreciated the fact that Martina came to the hotel to accompany me to the clinic. I thought it was a very nice gesture especially when I was so nervous about the surgery and although I am a nurse myself and used to clinical environment, it can be very scary to have surgery so many miles away from home. At the clinic everyone was polite and spoke well english. I was taken very good care of and I can not fault the service in anyway. It was a fantastic team of doctors, nurses, phlebotomist, dietitian and receptionists. If I was to have surgery again in Prague I would as I had a very positive experience. Thank you so much.

As you know other a month has transpired since my surgery and I have lost a little over two stone so far. I hope the success continues, I have felt extremely well and not suffered any problems with the initial dietary requirements.

The overall experience was to be fair as I imagined as I had spent a long time nearly a year organising my trip, it was important to ensure my home life was covered thus allowing me to focus only on the trip, I admit I was worried but Jana and yourself have always been there to answer any questions I had.

For the record I would recommend that patients are met by your company as this elevates any anxieties felt, my only disappointing experience is the waiting time from arriving at the hospital 07:30 in the morning up until being seen which was about 10 ish, in a uncomfortable waiting room with no information on why the delay and what exactly you was waiting for. However, once the process of seeing the doctors and nurses began it all happened very quickly once accepted and then being on the ward taken down for surgery.

Despite the occasional language barrier which could be a problem, the nurses post operation were extremely helpful and caring.

Everything has been going well. I have been resting and trying to sleep as much as possible. Slowly I have been able to drink more fluid and eat soft foods like apple sauce. I am feeling better today and will probably return to work tomorrow.
